Dear JD,
I think you're a basically decent person. Somewhere under your emo self-involvement you're not a dyed in the wool, first class asshole. You say you don't care about being liked or included so fervently that I know it's a lie. Your tats, dye job, wardrobe choices & atrocious posture & physique don't fool or scare me. You care A LOT and that probably is a bit of a mindfrak in the cold light of reality.
You like to strike back at your big brother because well, of course you would. Going counter is a lot more simple than constructing your own successful, happy life and it has the added benefit of sticking it to Henry on some level. It's a win-win in a twisted sort of way. The kind of way that says: "I may be miserable & unhappy but that it bothers you makes it all worthwhile!" I get it & am willing to let you have a bit of a pass because hey, Henry can be way annoying & the whole story of your family has yet to be revealed so I don't know exactly where either of you started on this juvenile hatefest you're locked in, to fully judge either beyond "Grow the hell up!" But dude, the pranks & especially the plan about the Unity Candle... two things:
1. You're way too old to be doing this. This may have occurred to you when you found your kindred spirit in wee one Madison. A grown man & a 7 or 8 year old girl really shouldn't have this sort of meeting of the minds. It never ends well for anyone.
2. You may want to harass & annoy the hell out of Henry but what the frak did Trish ever do to you? It's her wedding week too or is she just fair game because she's engaged to Henry & you just don't give a damn? Not cool, my man. So not.
And then there's the bit about taking Abbey to the tree. I'm loving how she's the only person you trust, so you're taking her to bolster your innocence. To hell with the fact that she saw her murdered mother tied up in a tree in much the same manner though, cause you'd know that. I mean, your thing is so much more important than the possible psycho damage she'll suffer, right? Way not cool. Srsly.
In closing JD, I hope you survive this terrible week on Harper's Island & if you do please use it as an opportunity to get your shit together!

Something about the money has been bothering me for weeks now. Here's what is known:
1. Uncle Marty arrived to the yacht with a bag of money, a gun, a blue disc (maybe a pill box) & possibly a camera (I've not seen it but apparently many people have).
2. When Uncle Marty crossed the bridge he was sans bag with above contents.
3. As yet, his intended destination has not been revealed.
4. Next we see the bag with the cash & gun (no pillbox & no camera), it's in the boat that Hunter is taking back to the mainland.
5. After Hunter is offed, Henry & Co. find the boat with the cash & a faceless Hunter. Mad Mal decides the cash can roll with them. Clearly additional bad things will happen as a result.
It seems the prevailing thought I see is about the money being put into Hunter's boat by the killer as part of the set up. I'm not on that page though because I can't get past the fact that it's just as likely that Uncle Marty put the bag in the boat in the first place because he had someplace to be and was going to use the boat & was on his way either back to the boat or up to the Inn (we've no indication of which direction he was heading in from what we see of the bridge) when he met his demise. Seems equally plausible to me. The bag being in the boat becomes more happenstance & opportunity to be capitalized on than anything else for both the killer & the writers. I'm not so sure that makes it wholly relevant to the motive for the killings but it's a wicked cool device to keep the audience talking & possibly distracted.
